Christmas on the Beach

Christmas On The Beach (half the world)

Half the world spends Christmas on the beach. If it's not the cold, and it's not the heat, then it has to be the love, joy and peace that makes Christmas. Christmas On The Beach is an upbeat, singalong Christmas pop song for everyone celebrating in the sun, the snow or somewhere in between, from Cape Town and Sydney to Rio and Manila.

The music video was filmed en route, by bike, from Victoria Falls to Cape Town: a 3,000-mile, four-month adventure.

Lyrics

Chorus
Half the world spends Christmas on the beach!
Half the world spends Christmas on the beach
Half the world spends Christmas on the beach
But I'm so happy, with you, here.

Verse 1
Do you really need cold? (Oh no!)
Do you really need bright lights? (Well, they're kinda nice.)
Do you really need retail therapy? (I can take it, or leave it, me)
So tell me, what you need! (What do I really need? Well,)

Prechorus
Everybody needs a little love,
Everybody needs a little joy,
Everybody needs a little peace,
Everybody needs a little joy!
Don't you know that…

Verse 2
Well they're cookin' in Cape Town, an' cookin' in Sydney,
They're surfin' in Durban, and over in Brisbane.
It's no chill-er in Manilla, or Jakarta, or Calcutta or Lagos,
Gettin' cosy in Rio, and Buenos Aires.

(Prechorus & Chorus)

Closing refrain
Joy, to the world, your Lord, has come
Half, the world, spends Christmas on the beach
Do you really need cold?
Do you really need bright lights?
Do you really need retail therapy?
Do you really need ME?
