Does Jacob’s Ladder work for all-age worship?

Yes. It is call and response with a strong, upbeat melody, so children and adults can join in quickly.

What Bible passages is it based on?

Jacob’s dream in Genesis 28:10-22, and the worship of heaven in Revelation 4–5 and 7, where the angels sing “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain”.

Is it suitable for choirs?

Yes. It suits gospel, community and school choirs, with “angelic” call-and-response backing vocals and a big brass arrangement on the recording.

Can it be played with just a guitar?

Yes. Dave wrote it on and usually performs it with a single acoustic guitar. Lyrics & chords, a lead sheet, and multitracks and stems (99 bpm) are on this page.
