Lyrics
Verse 1
Hush now
There’s no need to be afraid
Angels will be watching round your head
While you’re asleep
Chorus 1
Cast off your cares from yesterday
And sail upon your Milky Way of hopes and dreams
And I will ask the Morning Star
To put a guard around your heart and guide you home
To glory in His sunrise
Verse 2
Hush now
There’s no need to be afraid
Darkness brings an end to every day
But there’s still light
Chorus 2
And yes there’s fear in darker dreams
That I can’t hide you from, it seems
But still I know
Although you’re scared there is a way
In deepest dark before the day
His silver beam
His hope is here to guide us
Verse 3
Sometimes I look in to see you sleep
Locks curl round the edges of your cheek
So smooth, so pure
Chorus 3
And soon enough there’ll come a day when
Sailing further far away you’ll find a shore
To build a home where children play
And sleep in safety as each day draws to a close
And sing to bring them comfort
Ending
Hush now
There’s no need to be afraid
Angels will be watching round your head
