Question 1

What Bible passage is Go Into All the World based on?

Accepted Answer

Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20, with His words in Mark 16:15: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Question 2

Where does it fit in a service?

Accepted Answer

It works best as the last song, immediately before the benediction, or straight after a commissioning prayer. It pairs naturally with The Grace.

Question 3

Is it easy for a congregation to learn?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It was written for the whole congregation in unison, with simple repeated phrases, and can be introduced in one rehearsal. The chorus can stand alone if time is short.

Question 4

Has it been used widely?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It has ranked #1 in CCLI’s theme charts for the Great Commission, been sung at the Presbyterian Church in Ireland General Assembly, and been highlighted by Finishing the Task 2033.
